Getting Married

Marriage is a great blessing from God. Getting married at BAC involves a number steps:

  1. Initial meeting with a pastoral staff member (normally the senior pastor, please bring your birth certificates and notice of intended marriage form – see below)
  2. Marriage preparation sessions (with a marriage counselor and pastor)
  3. Service planning (with the pastor)
  4. Rehearsal
  5. Wedding day!

It is important that we have at least 3-4 months notice for a wedding, so that we have good opportunity to invest in your relationship as well as plan an excellent marriage service. If you require a shorter time span please ask to speak to one of our pastors directly. (The legal Australian requirement is one calendar month and a day of notice).

Marriage preparation is a great opportunity for couples at all stages to invest deeply in each other in the lead up to getting married. We highly recommend couples complete the “Prepare/Enrich” survey with Lifeworks (this is a separate fee) and then go through the vows and preparation material with one of our pastors.

Our services are conducted using Anglican rites – this includes the “classic” vows and promises. There are costs for the use of the building and wedding fees, however our main concern is the preparation and support of the couple.

For more information, please ring or email the church office and organise an initial meeting with one of our pastors.
